List of Famous people born in First Czechoslovak Republic

Iveta Radičová served as the first woman Prime Minister of Slovakia from 2010 to 2012. She led a coalition government, in which she also briefly held the post of Minister of Defence in the last five months of the coalition. Previously she had served as Minister of Labour from 2005 to 2006 in the second Dzurinda government.

Josef von Báky was a Hungarian filmmaker. He was also known as Josef v. Baky and József Baky. He was born in the village of Zobor in the Kingdom of Hungary. He worked as an assistant to Géza von Bolváry.

Branko Radivojevič is a Slovak former professional ice hockey forward who began and finished his career playing for HK Dukla Trenčín of the Slovak Extraliga (Slovak). He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers and Minnesota Wild. His Serbian father Matija came to Czechoslovakia during the 1970s as a contractor of a Yugoslavian company.

Pavel Jozef Šafárik was an ethnic Slovak philologist, poet, literary historian, historian and ethnographer in the Kingdom of Hungary. He was one of the first scientific Slavists.

Baron Ján Jesenský was a Slovak lower nobleman of the House of Jeszenszky, poet, prose writer, translator, and politician. He was a prominent member of the Slovak national movement.

Pál Pálffy ab Erdőd was a Hungarian noble and Palatine of Hungary.

Ernő Gerő was a Hungarian Communist Party leader in the period after World War II and briefly in 1956 the most powerful man in Hungary as the second secretary of its ruling communist party.
