Emilia Pikkarainen is a Finnish swimmer. She holds the Finnish record in 50 metres butterfly (26.90), 100 metres butterfly (59.02), 200 metres butterfly (2:10.89), and 200 metres individual medley (2:14.23).

Edvard August Vainio was a Finnish lichenologist. His early works on the lichens of Lapland, his three-volume monograph on the lichen genus Cladonia, and, in particular, his study of the classification and form and structure of lichens in Brazil, made Vainio renowned internationally in the field of lichenology.

Joel Kiviranta is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward. He is currently playing with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Salomon Klass was a captain in the Finnish Army, a company commander and one of the three Finnish Jews who were nominated to be awarded the Iron Cross by Nazi Germany during World War II, all of whom refused to accept it. He is described as Finland's best-known film director.

Janne Petteri Ahonen is a Finnish former ski jumper and drag racer. He competed in ski jumping between 1992 and 2018, and is one of the sport's most successful athletes of all time, as well as one of the most successful from Finland. Ahonen won two consecutive World Cup overall titles, the Four Hills Tournament a record five times, two individual gold medals at the World Championships, and the Nordic Tournament once. Nicknamed Kuningaskotka, he has been described as the greatest ski jumper to have never won an individual medal at the Winter Olympics.

Charles Linn born Carl Erik Engelbert Sjödahl (1814–1882) was a sailor, wholesaler, banker and industrialist. He was a captain in the Confederate Navy and an important figure in Alabama's early economy.

Kaarlo Pentti Linkola was a prominent Finnish deep ecologist, ornithologist, polemicist, naturalist, writer, and fisherman. He wrote widely about his ideas and in Finland was a prominent thinker. Linkola was a year-round fisherman from 1959 to 1995. He fished on Keitele, Päijänne and Gulf of Finland, and since 1978 he fished on Vanajavesi.
