Kamiel Buysse was a Belgian racing cyclist. He rode in the 1959 Tour de France. He was the grandfather of Greg Van Avermaet.

Axelle Carolyn is a Belgian filmmaker and former actress and journalist.

Wilfried Peeters is a former Belgian professional road bicycle racer. Nowadays, he is sportif director of the Quick Step team. During his cycling-career, he was a major help for Johan Museeuw in classics such as the Tour of Flanders and Paris–Roubaix.

Jelle François Maria Van Damme is a Belgian international professional footballer who can play as a central defender, left-back or left sided midfielder. He plays for Lokeren, and has previously played for clubs in Belgium, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. He also has over 30 caps for the Belgium national football team.

Ferdinand Bracke is a former Belgian professional road and track cyclist who is most famous for holding the World Hour Record (48.093 km) and winning the overall title at the 1971 Vuelta a España in front of Wilfried David of Belgium and Luis Ocaña of Spain. He also became world pursuit champion on the track in 1964 and 1969.

Steven Vanackere, is a Belgian politician from Flanders and member of the Christian Democratic and Flemish party (CD&V). He held the portfolios of Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Institutional Reform in the Leterme II government. He is the son of Leo Vanackere, who, following a political career as a Member of the Chamber of Representatives and the Senate of Belgium, became the Provincial Governor of West Flanders in 1979. His grandfather, Remi Wallays, had also been a senator and had been a former Mayor of Wevelgem.
