List of Famous people born in Bavaria, Germany

Conrad or Konrad Pflüger was one of the leading architects and master builders of the late Gothic period in Germany. In the 1490s he was the highest artistic authority in Albertine Saxony. He was also city architect to Görlitz, 'Werkmeister' to the Dukes of Saxony and designer of All Saints' Church, Wittenberg.

Franz Ludwig Freiherr von Erthal was the prince-bishop of Würzburg and Bamberg from 1779 until his death. He was buried at the Würzburg Cathedral.

Jakob Wassermann was a German writer and novelist.

Johann Georg Anton Geuther was a German chemist. His work in organic and inorganic chemistry influenced the development of coordination chemistry. Geuther spent most of his academic career at the University of Jena where he discovered ethyl acetoacetate, a key compound for chemical synthesis and for the discovery of tautomerism.

Joseph Berchtold was an early senior Nazi Party member and a co-founder of both the Sturmabteilung (SA) and Schutzstaffel (SS).

Daniel Brendel of Homburg was the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz from 1555 to 1582.

Erhard Bodenschatz was a German pastor, cantor and composer. He was cantor at Schulpforta from 1600 to 1603 and pastor in Groß-Osterhausen/Querfurt from 1608 onwards.
