Yūichirō Miura is a Japanese skier and alpinist.

Ōnoshō Fumiya is a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Aomori Prefecture. He debuted in sumo wrestling in January 2013 and made his top makuuchi debut in May 2017. His highest rank has been komusubi, and he has won three special prizes for Fighting Spirit, one for Outstanding Performance and two kinboshi for defeating yokozuna. He wrestles for Ōnomatsu stable.

Chiharu Icho is a Japanese wrestler who competed in the 48 kg weight class at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics, winning the silver medal at both Games.

Kyōichi Sawada was a Japanese photographer with United Press International who received the 1966 Pulitzer Prize for Photography for his combat photography of the Vietnam War during 1965. Two of these photographs were selected as "World Press Photos of the Year" in 1965 and 1966. The 1965 photograph shows a Vietnamese mother and children wading across a river to escape a US bombing. The famous 1966 photograph shows U.S soldiers of the 1st Infantry division dragging a dead Viet Cong fighter to a burial site behind their M113 armored personnel carrier, after he was killed in a fierce night attack by several Viet Cong battalions against Australian forces during the Battle of Long Tan on 18 August 1966.

Tarō Kimura was a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet. A native of Fujisaki, Aomori and graduate of Toyo University, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 1996 after serving in the Aomori Prefectural Assembly for two terms.

Takahito Kudo is a retired Nippon Professional Baseball player. He played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Yomiuri Giants, Chiba Lotte Marines and Chunichi Dragons over a 14-year professional career.

Shuta Tonosaki , nicknamed "Apple Punch", is a Japanese professional baseball infielder for the Saitama Seibu Lions in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.

Onda has won the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for New Writers, the Japan Booksellers' Award, the Mystery Writers of Japan Award for Best Novel, the Yamamoto Shūgorō Prize, and the Naoki Prize. Her work has been adapted for film and television.

Mainoumi Shūhei is a former sumo wrestler from Aomori, Japan. His highest rank was komusubi. During the 1990s he was one of the most popular wrestlers in sumo due to his wide variety of techniques and great fighting spirit in battling opponents nearly twice his size.

Koji Ota is a Japanese former professional baseball pitcher in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, and belongs to Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc. as a commentator in baseball live on radio and TV. Ota is a son of an American father and a Japanese mother, the adopted son of a Japanese step father and a Russian step mother, who emigrated to Japan because of the Russian Revolution in 1917.
