Alikhan Ashanuly Smaiylov is a Kazakh politician who is serving as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Previously, he served as the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan under Askar Mamin. He at the same time served as the Minister of Finance from September 2018 until May 2020. Smaiylov was nominated as the new prime minister of Kazakhstan by the country's president following the 2022 Kazakh protests. His candidacy was unanimously approved by the country's parliament.
