Gry Johansen
Gry Johansen-Meilstrup is a Danish singer who represented her country in Eurovision Song Contest 1983. She performed the song "Kloden drejer". The song was placed seventeenth out of twenty. Johansen made further bids for Eurovision glory when she participated in the Danish national selection contests in 1985, 1989 and 2000. However, she won on none of those occasions.

Doris Maria Ahnen is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been serving as Minister for Finance in the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate since 2014. Prior to that she served as the Minister for Education, Research and Culture since 2001. She has been a part of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate since the 2006 elections. She is also a member of the German Bundesrat for Rhineland-Palatinate.
Ronald Breaker
Ronald R. Breaker, Ph.D. is the Sterling Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University. He earned his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at The Scripps Research Institute under the supervision of Gerald Joyce. While at Scripps, he isolated the first DNA enzyme (deoxyribozyme). He then began his independent career at Yale University. Among his major accomplishments is the discovery of riboswitches. His current research is focused on understanding advanced functions of nucleic acids, including the discovery and analysis of riboswitches and ribozymes. He has been a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator since 2005.

Valentina Mikhailovna Yegorova is a long-distance runner from Russia. She was born in Cheboksary. Her first medal in the marathon came at the 1990 European Athletics Championships, where she was the silver medallist.
Pavol Rankov
Pavol Rankov is a Slovak writer. Rankov was born in Poprad and went to school in Bratislava. He studied library science at the Comenius University, graduating in 1987. He then worked at the Slovak National Library in Martin and at the Slovak Pedagogic Library in Bratislava. In 1993, Rankov joined the staff of the Comenius University. He won the European Book Prize as well as the Angelus Award for his novel Stalo sa prvého septembra, translated into English as It Happened on September the First .
