Tan Sri Dato' Mohamad Ariff bin Md Yusof is a Malaysian politician who was Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, the lower chamber of the Parliament of Malaysia from July 2018 to his removal from speakership in July 2020. He resigned from politics and the National Trust Party (AMANAH) to become an independent politician after being appointed to the Dewan Rakyat speakership.

He appears on the Smithsonian Folkways collection, Indonesian Popular Music: Krongcong, Dangdut, & Langgam Jawa. These songs are his most famous songs: "Rembulan Bersinar Lagi" and "Anak Siapa".

Mu-ming Poo is a Chinese-Taiwanese-American neuroscientist. He is the Paul Licht Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley and the Founding Director of the Shanghai-based Institute of Neuroscience (ION) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the 2016 Gruber Prize in Neuroscience for his pioneering work on synaptic plasticity. At ION, Poo led a team of scientists that produced the world's first truly cloned primates, a pair of crab-eating macaques called Zhongzhong and Huahua in 2017, using somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT).
