Jack McDevitt is an American science fiction author whose novels frequently deal with attempts to make contact with alien races, and with archaeology or xenoarchaeology. His two main series are the Alex Benedict series and the Priscilla Hutchins series.

Paul Hendrie is a Scottish former football midfielder who made nearly 400 professional appearances. His son, midfielder Lee Hendrie, made a late substitute appearance for England in 1998. Another son, Stuart, played league football for Morecambe. Hendrie's nephew, John Hendrie, is also a Scottish former professional footballer.

Virginia Sanjust of Teulada is a former Italian television announcer and television host.

Robert Rintje Ritsma is a Dutch former long track speed skater. His nickname is the Beer van Lemmer, which translates to the Bear from Lemmer, analogous to Igor Zhelezovski's nickname "The Bear from Minsk", both of which are in reference to their imposing physical appearance.
