Richard Edler von Mises was an Austrian Jewish scientist and mathematician who worked on solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, aeronautics, statistics and probability theory. He held the position of Gordon McKay Professor of Aerodynamics and Applied Mathematics at Harvard University. He described his work in his own words shortly before his death as being on

"... practical analysis, integral and differential equations, mechanics, hydrodynamics and aerodynamics, constructive geometry, probability calculus, statistics and philosophy."

Gustaf Olof Cederström (1845-1933) was a Swedish painter who specialized in historical scenes and portraits.

Augustus Frederick George Warwick Bampfylde, 2nd Baron Poltimore, styled The Honourable Augustus Bampfylde until 1858, of Poltimore House and North Molton in Devon, was a British Liberal politician. Between 1872 and 1874 he served as Treasurer of the Household to Queen Victoria, under William Ewart Gladstone.

Count Maximilian Ulrich von Kaunitz-Rietberg was an Austrian diplomat, politician and also a Governor of Moravia from 1720 to 1746. His older brother was Franz Karl von Kaunitz (1676–1717), a canon in Olomouc and Bishop of Ljubljana (Laibach).

Count Mikhail Nikolayevich Muravyov or Muraviev was a Russian statesman who advocated transferring the attention of Russian foreign policy from Europe to the Far East. He is probably best remembered for having initiated the Hague Peace Conference.
