Andrés Allamand Zavala, a Chilean politician, is the founder and one of the past leaders of Renovación Nacional. He is of French, and Basque descent. On January 14, 2011 he was named Minister of Defense by president Sebastián Piñera. He was sworn in on January 16, 2011 and left office on November 5, 2012. Allamand is a member of the Inter-American Dialogue.

Hase Seishū is the pen name of Toshihito Bandō , a well-known Japanese novelist. He is known for writing Yakuza crime novels. His pen name is based on the Chinese name of Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow, Chow Sing-chi (周星馳), written backwards and rendered in Japanese.

Timothy Lamar Beckham is an American professional baseball infielder for the Chicago White Sox organization. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles, and Seattle Mariners. Beckham was the first overall selection of the 2008 MLB draft by the Rays, and received a signing bonus of $6.15 million. He made his MLB debut in 2013, and played for the Rays through 2017, when they traded him to Baltimore.

Haru Kobayashi was a Japanese female musician, singing goze songs accompanied by shamisen. Kobayashi was blind, and had been since the age of three months. She started goze training at age five and started her career at age eight. She continued until 1978, traveling throughout most of Niigata Prefecture as well as through parts of the Yamagata and the Fukushima Prefectures. In 1978, she was named as one of the Living National Treasures of Japan, as a key figure of the traditional goze art form. In 1979, she was awarded the Medal of Honor with Yellow Ribbon.
