François Bernier
François Bernier was a French physician and traveller. He was born in Joué-Etiau in Anjou. He was briefly personal physician to Mughal prince Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, and after Dara Shikoh's execution, was attached to the court of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, for around 12 years during his stay in India.
