Deutch represented Florida's 19th congressional district until 2013 and Florida's 21st congressional district from 2013 to 2017.

An alumnus of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Prakash is the son of veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao and grandson of Kovelamudi Surya Prakash Rao.

Herman Perry was an African-American soldier serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, who deserted after killing an unarmed, white lieutenant attempting an arrest on him. After being sentenced to death, he escaped custody, and a man-hunt was launched while he lived in the jungle. Perry was eventually re-captured and once again court-martialed, later hanged for murder and desertion, making him the only American executed in the China Burma India Theater during World War II.
