Althea Neale Gibson was an American tennis player and professional golfer, and one of the first Black athletes to cross the color line of international tennis. In 1956, she became the first African American to win a Grand Slam title. The following year she won both Wimbledon and the US Nationals, then won both again in 1958 and was voted Female Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press in both years. In all, she won 11 Grand Slam tournaments: five singles titles, five doubles titles, and one mixed doubles title. Gibson was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame. "She is one of the greatest players who ever lived", said Bob Ryland, a tennis contemporary and former coach of Venus and Serena Williams. "Martina [Navratilova] couldn't touch her. I think she'd beat the Williams sisters." In the early 1960s she also became the first Black player to compete on the Women's Professional Golf Tour.

Alexander Alexandrovich Galchenyuk is an American professional ice hockey forward currently for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild. After two years playing in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Sarnia Sting, he was drafted third overall by the Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Dee Ford is an American football defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Auburn.

Stanton is a journeyman quarterback who has also been a member of the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, and Cleveland Browns.

Rashaad Armein Penny is an American football running back for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at San Diego State, where, in 2017, he led the nation with 2,248 rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns on 289 carries, finishing fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting and garnering first-team All-American and All-Mountain West honors. Penny also caught 19 passes for 135 yards and two scores and scored twice on kickoff returns, averaging 30.6 yards on 17 attempts. He also scored a 70-yard touchdown on one of his two punt returns for the year.
