Frédéric Cuvillier
Frédéric Cuvillier is a French politician who, until his appointment as Junior Minister for Transport and the Maritime Economy at the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Energy by President François Hollande on 16 May 2012, was a member of the National Assembly of France, where he represented the 5th constituency of Pas-de-Calais on behalf of the Parti Socialiste. He was mayor of Boulogne-sur-Mer from 22 November 2002 until 2012, when he became Secretary of State for Transport and the Maritime Economy.
Marino Morikawa
Marino Morikawa is a Peruvian-Japanese scientist. He has a master's degree in Interdisplinary Biodiplomacy and a doctorate in Environmental Sciences from the prestigious Tsukuba University in Japan. His work became well known when a short NatGeo news report featured him for the decontamination process of the small lake El Cascajo in Chancay, Peru, where he grew up as a child, using what he terms as "bubble nanotechnology." He had done research about this process. However, he had never tried it before. His father contacted him when he heard that there were plans to cover it, due to the fact it was contaminated. The recently graduated Morikawa made the decision to travel to his childhood home and decontaminate it himself. Many residents warned him that the lake was so contaminated that he'd get sick, but he paid no heed to their words. The process to decontaminate the lake took him 15 days. Because of his efforts, more than 70 species of birds and fish returned to the area. The residents have also started efforts to take care of the lake.
Julian Gressel
Julian Gressel is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for D.C. United of Major League Soccer. Born in Neustadt, Gressel began his career in Germany before moving to the United States in 2011. He then played college soccer for the Providence Friars for four seasons. In 2017, Gressel signed a contract with Major League Soccer and was selected in the MLS SuperDraft in the first round with the 8th overall pick by expansion side Atlanta United.
