Subhi al-Tufayli was the first Secretary-General or leader of Hezbollah for a year. Al-Tufayli is a Shia Islamist, but is a very vocal critic of Iran and the current Hezbollah leadership. He has been an active member of the Lebanese movement Amal Movement, and maintains his support of the organization.

Subhi bin Jassim bin Humaid al-Badri al-Samarrai (1936–2013) was a leading Iraqi muhaddith and one of the founders of Salafi movement in Iraq.

Sobhi Saleh Moussa is an Egyptian lawyer and a prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood. From 2005 to 2010, he represented the Alexandria district of Ramla in the Parliament of Egypt, belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood bloc. On April 2, 2003, he was arrested. On February 15, 2011, he was appointed to the Egyptian constitutional review committee of 2011.
