Maryam Monsef is an Afghan Canadian politician. She was elected to represent the riding of Peterborough—Kawartha as a Liberal member the House of Commons of Canada in 2015. A member of the 29th Canadian Ministry, she is the current Minister for Women and Gender Equality, sworn in on January 10, 2017, and Minister of Rural Economic Development, sworn in on November 20, 2019. She was previously the Minister of International Development, until November 20, 2019, and Minister of Democratic Institutions and President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada until January 10, 2017.

Maryam Safdar
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, also known as Maryam Safdar, is a Pakistani politician and the daughter of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. Maryam was initially involved in the family's philanthropic organisations. However, in 2012, she entered politics and was put in charge of election campaign during the 2013 general election. In 2013, she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme. However, she resigned in 2014 after her appointment was challenged in the Lahore High Court.
Maryam Yusuf Jamal
Maryam Yusuf Jamal is a Bahraini middle-distance runner. She is the first Bahraini athlete to win an Olympic medal, a gold in the 1500m women's race, in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This was also the first Olympic medal won by a woman representing a Gulf state. Born in Ethiopia, 2005 was her first full season. She gained the national record and ran the fastest 3000 m of the year, with a time of 8:28.87 at a race in Oslo. Jamal is a two-time world champion in the 1500 m, having won at the 2007 and 2009 World Championships in Athletics.

Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi is an Emirati woman politician, who has been serving as the minister of social affairs since February 2006. She is the second woman who holds a cabinet post in the United Arab Emirates, and one of two women in the cabinet.
