José Maza Fernández was a politician, lawyer and diplomat from Chile. He served as the President of the United Nations General Assembly during its tenth session from 1954 to 1955.
José María Pérez de Urdininea
José María Pérez de Urdininea was a Bolivian politician who served as the 3rd President of Bolivia on an interim basis in 1828. He was the first Bolivian president to be born in Bolivia itself. He fought with the patriots against the Argentines in Peru. Despite being President for only three months, Pérez held a number of important positions in the Bolivian government including Minister of War between 1841 and 1847.

José Palma
José Palma y Velásquez was a Filipino poet and soldier. He was on the staff of La independencia at the time he wrote "Filipinas", a patriotic poem in Spanish. It was published for the first time in the issue of the first anniversary of La independencia on 3 September 1899. The poem fit the instrumental tune "Marcha Nacional Filipina" by Julián Felipe, and it has since been the basis for every translation of the Philippine National Anthem.

José Apolonio Burgos y García was a Filipino Catholic priest, accused of mutiny by the Spanish colonial authorities in the Philippines in the 19th century. He was placed in a mock trial and summarily executed in Manila along with two other clergymen, Mariano Gómez and Jacinto Zamora, who are collectively known as the Gomburza.
