Herman I, Count of Henneberg was the son of Count Poppo VII of Henneberg and his wife, Jutta of Thuringia, the eldest daughter of Landgrave Herman I of Thuringia. This was Boppo's second marriage, and also Jutta's second marriage. Margrave Henry III of Meissen was Herman's half-brother from his mother's side. Herman supported the election of his uncle Henry Raspe as anti-king of the Germans.

Johan Caspar Herman Wedel Jarlsberg was a Norwegian statesman and count. He played an active role in the constitutional assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814 and was the first native Norwegian to hold the post of Governor-general of Norway with the authority of a viceroy, representing the absent king of Norway as head of the Norwegian cabinet during the union with Sweden.
Herman Tarnower
Herman Tarnower was an American cardiologist and co-author of the bestselling diet book The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet (1978), which promoted a high-protein low-carbohydrate fad diet known as the Scarsdale diet. On March 10, 1980, just eight days before his 70th birthday, Tarnower was shot dead by Jean Harris. Harris was convicted of his murder at trial in White Plains, New York in 1981.
