Giovanni Veronesi is an Italian film screenwriter, actor and director. Born in Prato, he is the brother of the writer Sandro Veronesi.

Giovanni Vincenzo Gonzaga (1540–1591) was an Italian Roman Catholic cardinal.

Giovanni Francesco Pico della Mirandola (1470–1533) was an Italian nobleman and philosopher, the nephew of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. His name is typically truncated as Gianfrancesco Pico della Mirandola.

Giovanni Lombardi is an Italian former professional road bicycling racer who raced from 1992 to 2006. He started his career as a sprinter, winning multiple stages in the Giro d'Italia. He went on to ride as an important helper for the top sprinter names of Erik Zabel and Mario Cipollini. Most recently, he rode for Team CSC as a helper for Ivan Basso. Lombardi was also an active track racer during wintertime, and has participated in many six-day races, frequently as a partner of Marco Villa. He also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 1992 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal at the latter.

Giovanni Valetti was an Italian professional road racing cyclist. The highlights of his career were his two overall wins in the 1938 and 1939 Giro d'Italia. He also won the 1938 Tour de Suisse.

Giovanni Toti is an Italian journalist and politician, who has been President of Liguria since June 2015. Toti was also elected in the European Parliament, following the 2014 European election.

Giovanni Maria Galli, called Giovanni Maria da Bibiena, was born at Bibiena in 1625. He studied under Albani, and his productions have often been mistaken for those of his master. He died in 1665. Of his larger works in the churches at Bologna the following are the most esteemed: The Ascension, in the Certosa; St. Anne, in Santa Maria della Carità; St. Andrew, in San Biagio; and St. Francis of Sales, at the Padri Servi. This artist was the founder of a family of whom no fewer than nine are known to fame, all of whom bore the surname of Bibiena.
