List of Famous people named Gerard

Gerard Clifford was a Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Armagh, Northern Ireland. He was born in Lordship, County Louth. He was educated at Bellurgan National School, Bush Vocational School, St Mary's College, Dundalk, and Saint Patrick’s College, Armagh. He studied for the priesthood at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth and undertook postgraduate studies both in Maynooth and in the Jesuit Lumen Vitae, Brussels.

Sir Gerard Howe KC was a British lawyer and judge. He was Chief Justice of Hong Kong in the early 1950s.

Gerard of Clairvaux was the older brother of Bernard of Clairvaux. He was the son of Tescelin le Roux and Aleth de Montbard. When Bernard entered Cîteaux with a group of young relatives and friends in 1112, Gerard did not join him. Instead, he participated in the military life, but was injured during a siege of Grancy and was also imprisoned. During his imprisonment, he decided to enter the monastic life and went to Citeaux after his release.
