Darin Cortland Ruf is an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). Ruf was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and played at Westside High School. Subsequently, he attended Creighton University, excelled playing baseball there, and was named the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Year.

Darin McKay LaHood is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois' 18th congressional district since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously was the member of the Illinois Senate from the seven-county 37th legislative district (2011–2015). He was elected to Congress in a special election following the resignation of Aaron Schock.
