Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam or K. J. Alphons is an Indian civil servant, advocate, and politician from Kerala. He is the former Union Minister of State for Culture, and Tourism, in office since 3 September 2017 to May 2019 under the B.J.P. Government of Narendra Modi.He is currently serving as a Rajyasabha MP.

Alphons Egli was a Swiss politician and member of the Swiss Federal Council (1983–86). He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on 8 December 1982 and handed over office on 31 December 1986. He was affiliated to the Christian Democratic People's Party of Switzerland. During his time in office he held the Federal Department of Home Affairs and was President of the Confederation in 1986. Egli was a citizen of Entlebuch and Lucerne. He died on 5 August 2016, aged 91.

Alphons Louis Eugene Timmerman was a Belgian ship's steward who became a spy for the German intelligence agency, the Abwehr, during the Second World War. He was captured by the security services upon his arrival in Britain in September 1941. MI5 officers posed as Timmerman in correspondence with the Abwehr in an attempt to deceive them as to the competence of the British security services. This attempt was unsuccessful as German intelligence officers failed to spot deliberate mistakes in the letters, but did help to disprove the Abwehr's previously good reputation for intelligence work. Timmerman admitted to being a spy and was executed at Wandsworth Prison in 1942.
