Alexander MacDonnell, 3rd Earl of Antrim
Alexander MacDonnell, 3rd Earl of Antrim PC (Ire) (1615–1699) was a Roman Catholic peer and military commander in Ireland. He fought together with his brother Randal on the losing side in the Irish Confederate Wars (1641–1653); and then, having succeeded his brother as the 3rd Earl of Antrim in 1683, fought in the Williamite War (1688–1691), on the losing side again. Twice his lands were forfeit and twice he regained them.

Alexander Nikolayevich Tcherepnin was a Russian-born composer and pianist. Both his father, Nikolai Tcherepnin, and his sons, Serge Tcherepnin and Ivan Tcherepnin, as well as two of his grandsons, Sergei and Stefan, were composers. His son Serge was involved in the earliest development of electronic music and instruments. His mother was a member of the artistic Benois family, a niece of Alexandre Benois.
