Sebastian "Bas" Rutten is a Dutch–American actor, retired mixed martial artist, kickboxer and professional wrestler. He was a UFC Heavyweight Champion, a three-time King of Pancrase world champion, and finished his career on a 22 fight unbeaten streak. Fredericus (Fred) Jacobus Rutten is a football coach and a former footballer. As a player, Rutten spent his entire career with Twente during the years 1979 to 1992. Following his playing career he also managed FC Twente, before moving on to clubs like FC Schalke 04, PSV, Vitesse Arnhem, Feyenoord, Al Shabab, Maccabi Haifa and more recently Anderlecht.

Gwendolyn Angeline Albert Maria Rutten is a Belgian politician. She was the chairwoman of the Flemish liberal party until March 22, 2020. On 11 January 2017 she resigned from the Flemish Parliament in order to prepare her party for the local election of 2018.
