He is the coordinator of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). He also served three times as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 22 September 2001 – 1 March 2002, 29 September 2014 – 22 May 2015 and 6 December 2016 – 15 February 2017.
