Kōsaka Masanobu also known as Kasuga Toratsuna was a Japanese samurai warrior of the Sengoku period. He was known as one of the "Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda Shingen". He is often credited as the original author of Kōyō Gunkan, which records the history of the Takeda family and their military tactics.

Chiyonoyama Masanobu

Chiyonoyama Masanobu was a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Fukushima, Hokkaidō. He was the sport's 41st yokozuna from 1951 until 1959. He is regarded as the first "modern" yokozuna in that he was promoted by the Japan Sumo Association itself and not the House of Yoshida Tsukasa. He was the first yokozuna from Hokkaidō, which was also the birthplace of the subsequent yokozuna Yoshibayama, Taihō, Kitanoumi and his own recruits Kitanofuji and Chiyonofuji. After his retirement he left the Dewanoumi group of stables and founded Kokonoe stable in 1967. He died in 1977 while still an active stablemaster.

Minamoto no Masanobu

Minamoto no Masanobu/Masazane (920–993), third son of Imperial Prince Atsumi, a Kugyō of the Heian period. His mother was a daughter of Fujiwara no Tokihira. He became Minister of the Left in 978. His daughter Rinshi was married to Fujiwara no Michinaga, when Michinaga was in a far lower position. At first he disputed his daughter's marriage because of Michinaga's position, but his wife Bokushi (穆子) pushed for the marriage. Finally Michinaga became regent of the Emperor, so his wife was redeemed as a good judge of character. Michinaga came into Masazane's residence Tsuchimikado-dono (土御門殿).
