His family home was a musical and artistic salon with musicians Bernard Herrmann,Ingolf Dahl,Harry Lubin, Igor Stravinsky and poets Kenneth Rexroth, Kenneth Pagent, and Peter Yates and artists Eugene Berman and Vera Stravinsky.
