Blanche of Artois was a member of the Capetian House of Artois who, as queen dowager, held regency over the Kingdom of Navarre and the County of Champagne. She was queen of Navarre and countess of Champagne and Brie during her marriage to Henry I of Navarre. After his death she became regent in the name of their infant daughter, Joan I. She passed on the regency of Navarre to Philip III of France, her cousin and her daughter's prospective father-in-law, but retained the administration of Champagne. She later shared the government of Champagne with her second husband, Edmund Crouchback, until her daughter reached the age of majority.

Marie of Artois Born in 1291, was the fourth daughter of Philip of Artois and Blanche of Brittany. She became the Lady of Méraude (Merode) when she purchased it from John the Blind, King of Bohemia, in 1342.

Matilda of Brabant was the eldest daughter of Henry II, Duke of Brabant and his first wife Marie of Hohenstaufen.

Robert III of Artois was Lord of Conches-en-Ouche, of Domfront, and of Mehun-sur-Yèvre, and in 1309 he received as appanage the county of Beaumont-le-Roger in restitution for the County of Artois, which he claimed. He was also briefly Earl of Richmond in 1341 after the death of John III, Duke of Brittany.

Robert II was the Count of Artois, the posthumous son and heir of Robert I and Matilda of Brabant. He was a nephew of Louis IX of France. He died at the Battle of the Golden Spurs.

Bonne of Artois was Countess consort of Nevers by marriage to Philip II, Count of Nevers, and Duchess consort of Burgundy by marriage to Philip III, Duke of Burgundy. She served as regent of the County of Nevers during the minority of her son from 1415 until 1424.

Mahaut of Artois, also known as Mathilda, ruled as countess of Artois from 1302 to 1329. She was furthermore regent of the County of Burgundy from 1303 to 1315 during the minority of her son, Robert.

Robert I, called the Good, was the first Count of Artois, a Prince of France, and the fifth son of Louis VIII, King of France and Blanche of Castile.

Charles of Artois, son of Philip of Artois, Count of Eu, and Marie of Berry, was Count of Eu from December 1397 until his death 74 years later. He was taken prisoner by the English at the Battle of Agincourt on 25 October 1415, and was not released until 1438. In 1448, he married Jeanne of Saveuse and on 23 September 1454, Helene of Melun, but he had no children. He was appointed Lieutenant of the King in Normandy and Guyenne, as well as Governor of Paris, during the War of the Public Weal in 1465. He was succeeded by his nephew John II, Count of Nevers.
