Isabella of Angoulême was Queen of England as the second wife of King John from 1200 until John's death in 1216. She was also suo jure Countess of Angoulême from 1202 until 1246.

Louis Antoine of France, Duke of Angoulême was the elder son of Charles X of France and the last Dauphin of France from 1824 to 1830. He was technically King of France and Navarre for less than 20 minutes before he himself abdicated, due to his father's abdication during the July Revolution in 1830. He never reigned over the country, but after his father's death in 1836, he was the legitimist pretender as Louis XIX.

Aymer was the last Count of Angoulême of the House of Taillefer. He was the youngest child of Count William VI and Marguerite de Turenne. Two of his elder brothers, Wulgrin III and William VII, became Counts of Angoulême in succession after the death of their father in 1179.

Wulgrin I was the Count of Angoulême, Périgueux, and possible Saintonge from 866 to his death. William VI of Angoulême was also known as William Taillefer IV. The eldest son of Count Wulgrin II of Angoulême and his first wife, Poncia, daughter of Roger the Poitevin and Almodis, he succeeded his father at the head of the county of Angoulême in 1140.

Guy of Lusignan, Guy of La Marche or Guy of Angoulême or Guy I de Lusignan, Seigneur de Couhé et de Peyrat c. 1282, succeeded his brother Hugh XIII as Seigneur de Lusignan, Count of La Marche and Count of Angoulême on 1 November 1303.
