An Olympic gold medallist, he is also regarded as one of the most accomplished hammer throw coaches of all time. He is the author of a two-volume book Transfer of Training, which was translated from Russian to English by Michael Yessis.

Kevin De Weert is a former Belgian professional road bicycle racer. In October 2014 it was announced would join LottoNL–Jumbo on a two-year deal from 2015, with the team's directeur sportif Nico Verhoeven describing his role as a domestique for the team's general classification riders in stage races. De Weert retired on his 33rd birthday due to the continuing effects of injuries sustained earlier in his career. In February 2016 he succeeded Carlo Bomans as coach of the Belgian national cycling team.

Lise Nørgaard is a Danish journalist and writer known for her precise and often humorous portrayals of Danish cultural life. Nørgaard has written novels, compilations of essays and short stories. The memoir of her childhood, Kun en pige, became a bestseller in 1992 and is considered her masterpiece. The work was made into a feature film in 1995.
