Gerson Poyk was an Indonesian writer and journalist, representative of the "Generation-66". Full name Herson Gubertus Gerson Poyk. Among friends he was known as "Pak Bea" or "Oom Bea".

Police Brigadier General Jeanne Mandagi was the first Indonesian woman to become a general in the Indonesian National Police. She also served as an expert consultant at the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency and was active in dealing with drug eradication in Indonesia.

Wang Panyuan was a Chinese-Taiwanese painter. In 2001 he received the National Arts Award of Taiwan. He painted well into his old age, with his last public appearance being in May 2015. Born in Jiangsu, he went to Taiwan in 1949 as a soldier. He died of multiple organ failure on 22 December 2017 in Yilan County, Taiwan.

Hsiao Teng-tzang was a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1973 to 1986 and served as Minister of Justice between July 1988 and October 1989. Hsiao later chaired the Central News Agency.

Recep Adanır was a Turkish professional footballer who played most of his career with Beşiktaş, the club he managed following his retirement. He also played for Ankaragücü, Kasımpaşa, Galatasaray and Karagümrük. Adnıir died on 20 May 2017, aged 88.

Kadhim Waal was an Iraqi football striker who played for Iraq in the 1976 AFC Asian Cup. He also played for Al-Tayaran. He was the first captain of Iraq U20.
