Isaak Yakovlevich Pomeranchuk was a Soviet theoretical physicist working in particle physics, quantum field theory, electromagnetic and synchrotron radiation, condensed matter physics and the physics of liquid helium. The Pomeranchuk instability, the pomeron, and a few other phenomena in particle and condensed matter physics are named after him.

Ernst Schybergson was a Finnish tennis player. He competed in the men's singles and doubles events at the 1924 Summer Olympics.

Gösta Nystroem was a Swedish composer.

Francis Xavier Bushman was an American film actor and director. His career as a matinee idol started in 1911 in the silent film His Friend's Wife. He gained a large female following and was one of the biggest stars of the 1910s and early 1920s.

Louis Arthur Johnson was an American politician and attorney who served as the second United States Secretary of Defense from 1949 to 1950. He was the Assistant Secretary of War from 1937 to 1940 and the 15th national commander of The American Legion, from 1932 to 1933.

Reino Ragnar Lehto served as caretaker Prime Minister of Finland from 1963 to 1964. He then served as governor of Uusimaa province from 1964 until his death on 13 July 1966. Lehto was a lawyer by profession.
