Homer Hartman Stryker MD was an American orthopedic surgeon, inventor, businessman, and the founder of Stryker Corporation. His inventions contributed to orthopedic care, patient comfort, and medical staff convenience.

Tenryū Saburō, born Saburō Wakuta in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, was a professional sumo wrestler with the Dewanoumi stable. As the ringleader of the "Shunjūen Incident", in which many wrestlers went on strike, he left the Japan Sumo Association in 1932. With the other striking wrestlers, he created the "Rishiki group for a Great Japan", wishing to reform the system he described as "feudal" and to increase his earnings. Because of financial difficulties, the group dissolved in 1937.

Kurt Waldemar Tank was a German aeronautical engineer and test pilot who led the design department at Focke-Wulf from 1931 to 1945. He was responsible for the creation of several important Luftwaffe aircraft of World War II, including the Fw 190 fighter aircraft, the Ta 152 fighter-interceptor and the Fw 200 Condor airliner. After the war, Tank spent two decades designing aircraft abroad, working first in Argentina and then in India, before returning to Germany in the late 1960s to work as a consultant for Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB).

Suhayr al-Qalamawi was a significant literary figure and politician from Egypt who shaped Arabic writing and culture through her writing, feminist activism, and advocacy. She was one of the first women to attend Cairo University and in 1941 became the first Egyptian woman to earn her Master of Arts Degree and PhD for her work in Arabic literature. After graduating, she was employed by the university as their first woman lecturer. Al-Qalamawi was also one of the first women to hold a number of chief positions including chairperson of the Arabic Department at Cairo University, president of the Egyptian Feminist Union, and president of the League of Arab Women University Graduates. Her writings include two volumes of short stories, ten critical studies, and many translations from world literature.Aḥādīth jaddatī was published in 1935.

Vida Tomšič née Bernot was a Slovenian communist before World War II, a Partisan fighter during the War, and a prominent communist politician, women’s activist, and people's hero in post-war Yugoslavia. She was born and died in Ljubljana, and held many government positions in Slovenia and Yugoslavia during her long career. Tomšič was a Marxist feminist who "saw women’s rights as strictly dependent on the social and economic development of the country as a whole."

Gerson Poyk was an Indonesian writer and journalist, representative of the "Generation-66". Full name Herson Gubertus Gerson Poyk. Among friends he was known as "Pak Bea" or "Oom Bea".
