Khaled Bichara was an Egyptian businessman and entrepreneur who served as the Chairman of link.net and Chief Executive Officer of Accelero Capital. Prior to joining Accelero Capital, Bichara was Chief Executive Officer of Orascom Telecom Media and Technology OTMT, Group President and Chief Operating Officer of VimpelCom Ltd., and Executive Chairman of Global Telecom Holding. Bichara played a pivotal role in the merger of VEON and Wind Telecom to create the world's sixth-largest telecommunications carrier.

Clara Mae Ward was an American gospel artist who achieved great artistic and commercial success during the 1940s and 1950s, as leader of The Famous Ward Singers. A gifted singer and arranger, Ward adopted the lead-switching style, previously used primarily by male gospel quartets, creating opportunities for spontaneous improvisation and vamping by each member of the group, while giving virtuoso singers such as Marion Williams the opportunity to perform the lead vocal in songs such as "Surely, God Is Able", "How I Got Over" and "Packin' Up".

Béatrice Saubin was a French woman convicted of drug smuggling in Malaysia who later wrote a best-selling book about her prison experiences. Raised by her grandmother in Romilly-sur-Seine, she dropped out of high school and travelled to Thailand, then Malaysia, having affairs with men in each country. Her Malaysian lover in Penang offered to marry her if she met him in Zurich. At age 20, in January 1980, she was detained at Penang International Airport when an airport x-ray scanner detected 534 grams (1.177 lb) of pure grade heroin hidden in her suitcase.

Sean Aloyisious Bourke (1934–1982) from Limerick who became internationally famous when he aided in the prison escape of the British spy George Blake in October 1966. Blake had been convicted in 1961 of spying for the Soviet Union. After the escape, Blake eventually made his way to Moscow; Bourke did too, but he eventually returned to Ireland.
