Alessandro "Sandro" Cortese is a German motorcycle racer, currently competing in the World Superbike Championship aboard a Yamaha R1. Cortese won his first world title in the Moto3 class, in 2012., and his second in the Supersport World Championship, in 2018. He lives in Berkheim, Germany.

Peter Stamm is a Swiss writer. His prize-winning books have been translated into more than thirty languages. For his entire body of work and his accomplishments in fiction, he was short-listed for the Booker Prize in 2013, and in 2014 he won the prestigious Friedrich Hölderlin Prize.

Renate von Natzmer was a German noblewoman who worked for the army during the Weimar Republic and Third Reich. She also worked for Polish intelligence. In the early 1930s, she met Polish agent major Jerzy Sosnowski and she became, like her friend Benita von Falkenhayn, his lover. They were arrested for spying and treason. Von Falkenhayn and von Natzmer were found guilty and sentenced to death.
