Major-General The Hon. William Herbert was a British Army officer and politician. He was the fifth son of Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke by his wife Margaret, daughter of Sir Robert Sawyer of Highclere.

William Wishart (1660–1729) was a Church of Scotland minister and the Principal of Edinburgh University from 1716 to 1728. He is not to be confused with his son William Wishart (secundus), who was subsequently the Principal of Edinburgh University from 1736 to 1754.

Richard Eliot (1694–1748), of St. Giles-in-the-Fields, Middlesex, was a British diplomat, official and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1733 to 1748.

Ras Araya Selassie Yohannes (Tigrinya: አርአያ ሥላሴ ዮሐንስ, araya śəllase yohannəs; "horse name" Abba Deblaq; was a son of atse Yohannes IV from his wife Masitire Selassie, a daughter of a Muslim Afar chieftain whom he married after she was Christened. Araya was nominated Crown Prince.
