He was fired on December 4, 2017 following a 2–10 start, along with benching longtime starting quarterback Eli Manning; at the time of his termination, his 28 regular season games were the fewest by a Giants coach since 1930. Prior to working for the Giants, McAdoo served as an assistant coach for several college football teams, as well as for the New Orleans Saints, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Green Bay Packers.
