He is known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Enos Strate in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. He also starred in the short-lived spin-off series Enos based around his Dukes of Hazzard character. Shroyer is married and has two sons, Chris and Mark.

Alexandr Shefer is a former Kazakh racing cyclist. He was a professional racer from 1993 to 2003. He is the brother of Viktor Shefer, who was also a professional cyclist. Shefer was a coach for Astana from 2007 to 2009, the team of Alexander Vinokourov, alongside team director Belgian Johan Bruyneel.
