Sam grew up in Teignmouth, Devon and played for Teignmouth RFC for most of his youth. After graduating through their academy, Simmonds made his Exeter Chiefs debut in November 2012.

Sarah Jane Hazlegrove is an English actress, known for portraying the role of Kathleen "Dixie" Dixon in the BBC medical drama Casualty. Mudhsuden Singh Panesar, known as Monty Panesar, is a former English international cricketer. Sophie Megan Hahn, is a parasport athlete from England competing mainly in T38 sprint events. In 2013, she qualified for the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships, selected for the T38 100m and 200m. She took the gold in the 100m sprint, setting a new world record.

He is a three-time European champion having won the −80 kg title at the European Taekwondo Championships in 2010, 2012 representing Great Britain and 2014 representing the Isle of Man, and was the world junior champion in the −78 kg division in 2008.
