Shi Jingtang (石敬瑭), also known by his temple name Gaozu (高祖), was the founding emperor of imperial China's short-lived Later Jin during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, reigning from 936 until his death.

Sima Tan was a Chinese astrologer and historian during the Western Han dynasty. He studied astronomy with Tang Du, the I Ching under Yang He, and Daoism under Master Huang. He held the position of Court Astrologer (太史令) between 140-110 BC. While Sima Tan had begun the Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), he died before it was finished. It was left to his son, Sima Qian, to complete. The year of Sima Tan's death is the year of the great imperial sacrifice fengshan zh:封禅 by Han Wudi, for which the emperor appointed the fangshi, leaving Sima behind and thus probably causing him much frustration.

Yan Weiwen is a contemporary Chinese opera singer with origins in the People's Liberation Army. He rose to fame through this involvement in the performing arts troupe of the PLA's General Political Department.

Peter Wu Junwei is a Chinese Catholic priest and Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Xinjiang from 2010.

Ren Jianxin is a retired Chinese lawyer, judge, and politician. He served as President of the Supreme People's Court from 1988 to 1998.

Wei Qing, courtesy name Zhongqing, born Zheng Qing in Linfen, Shanxi, was a famous Western Han military general acclaimed for his campaigns against the Xiongnu, and his rags to riches life. He was a consort kin of Emperor Wu of Han as the younger half-brother of Emperor Wu's wife Empress Wei Zifu, and later the third husband of Emperor Wu's older sister Eldest Princess Yangxin. He was also the maternal uncle of Huo Qubing, another decorated Han general who participated in the war against the Xiongnu.

Yang Ye (楊業) or Yang Jiye (楊繼業), named Liu Jiye (劉繼業) before 979 and Yang Chonggui (楊重貴) in his youth, was a military general in imperial China, serving first the Northern Han state during the last years of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and later the Song Dynasty which annexed Northern Han in 979.

Sun Chuanting, courtesy name Boya, was born in Shanxi; he was the late Ming Dynasty's Defence minister, and field Marshal (Dushi). He led 10,000 Ming troops against Li Zicheng's 70,000 troops. He was defeated and killed by Li in the Battle of Tongguan (1643).

Empress Huo Chengjun (霍成君) was an empress during Han Dynasty. She was the second wife of Emperor Xuan. Her father was the statesman Huo Guang, who served as regent for Emperor Zhao and who remained exceedingly powerful during Emperor Xuan's reign until his death in 68 BC. Her mother's name was Xian (顯).
