Wilhelm Backhaus was a German pianist and pedagogue. He was particularly well known for his interpretations of Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Brahms. He was also much admired as a chamber musician.

Hermann Julian Winkler is a German politician who served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Germany from 2009 until 2019. Selina Freitag is a German ski jumper. She won the overall ranking of the 2016–17 FIS Ski Jumping Alpen Cup, and has competed at World Cup level since the 2018–19 season. Her best individual result is 13th place in Ramsau on 18 December 2020. At the 2019 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships, she won a silver medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the mixed-team event.
