List of Famous people born in Russia

Alexander Volberg is a Russian mathematician. He is working in operator theory, complex analysis and harmonic analysis. He received the Salem Prize in 1988 for his work in harmonic analysis. Also he received the Lars Onsager medal in 2004. He is currently a University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University. From 2007-2008 he was the Sir Edmund Whittaker Professor of Mathematical Science at the University of Edinburgh.

Timur Vadimovich Ivanov, is a Russian statesman and army officer, who is currently the Deputy Minister of Defense since 23 May 2016. He is also an acting State Advisor of the Russian Federation, 1st class, and a candidate of economic sciences.

Igor Ekhielevich Dzyaloshinskii, was a Russian theoretical physicist, known for his research on "magnetism, multiferroics, one-dimensional conductors, liquid crystals, van der Waals forces, and applications of methods of quantum field theory". In particular he is known for the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction.
