Gauci undertook music tuition at the Victorian College of the Arts, formed her own band that played gigs in Melbourne, while also working as a music teacher. After an appearance on national radio station Triple J's talent contest, Unearthed, she successfully auditioned for the fifth series of Australian Idol in 2007 and went on to win the series.

Noah Igbinoghene is an American football cornerback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn and was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Marlon James is a Jamaican writer. He is the author of four novels: John Crow's Devil (2005), The Book of Night Women (2009), A Brief History of Seven Killings (2014), winner of the 2015 Man Booker Prize, and Black Leopard, Red Wolf (2019). Corey Webster is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He joined the Breakers for the first time in 2008 after a season of college basketball in the United States for Lambuth University. He won championships with the Breakers in 2011, 2013 and 2015. He has also been a regular in the New Zealand NBL, winning championships with the Wellington Saints in 2011, 2014 and 2017, and has had stints in Serbia, Greece, Israel, China and Italy.

Aneurin Bevan PC, often known as Nye Bevan, was a Welsh Labour Party politician. Born into a working-class family in South Wales, he was the son of a coal miner. He left school at 13 and worked as a miner during his teens where he became involved in local union politics. He was named head of his Miners' Lodge when aged 19, where he frequently railed against management. He joined the Labour Party and attended Central Labour College in London. On his return to south Wales he struggled to find work, remaining unemployed for nearly three years before gaining employment as a union official, which led to him becoming a leading figure in the 1926 general strike.
