Song Yingxing was a Chinese scientist and encyclopedist who lived during the late Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). He was the author of Tiangong Kaiwu, an encyclopedia that covered a wide variety of technical subjects, including the use of gunpowder weapons. The British sinologist and historian Joseph Needham called Song Yingxing "The Diderot of China."

Liu Hong is a Chinese female race walker. She is the world record holder over the Olympic 20 km distance with a time of 1:24:38 hours, set in 2015.

Yu Qiuli was a Chinese Communist army officer and politician, general of the People's Liberation Army. A veteran of the Long March, he held top military and government positions under both Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping and is considered the founding father of the Chinese petroleum industry and the China National Petroleum Corporation.

Lü Yan is a Chinese fashion designer, supermodel, and actress. During her career as a model she worked with such labels as Dior, Gucci, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen before appearing on the cover of numerous fashion magazines including Marie Claire and i-D. Now retired from modelling, Lü is a fashion designer with her own label Comme Moi.

Wu Tieh-cheng was a politician in the Republic of China. He served as Mayor of Shanghai, Governor of Guangdong province, and was the Vice Premier and Foreign Minister in 1948–1949.

Xu Qian or George Hsu was a Chinese politician and scholar. He made important contribution to the judicial system of modern China.

Bada Shanren, other department Bada Shanren, was a Han Chinese painter of ink wash painting and a calligrapher. He was of royal descent, being a direct offspring of the Ming dynasty prince Zhu Quan who had a feudal establishment in Nanchang. His master lineage's accession was revoked following the last Ning Lineage King Zhu Chenhao's rebellion in 1521, but the rest of the lineage was allowed to retain status in Jiangxi. Art historians have named him as a brilliant painter of the period.

Li Jingquan was a Chinese Hakka politician and the first Party Committee Secretary (governor) of Sichuan following the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949. He supported many of Mao Zedong's policies including the Great Leap Forward.
