Karel Václav Rais was a Czech realist novelist, author of the so-called country prose, numerous books for youth and children, and several poems.

Jan Křtitel Kuchař, or also German: Johann Baptist Kucharz was a Czech organist, mandolinist, harpsichordist, music composer, operatic conductor, and teacher.

Karel Pařík was a Czech-born architect of Austro-Hungarian citizenship who spent most of his life in Sarajevo where he designed over seventy major buildings. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, he is also known as Karlo Paržik.

Ferdinand Albin Pax was a German botanist specializing in spermatophytes. A collaborator of Adolf Engler, he wrote several monographs and described several species of plants and animals from Silesia and the Carpathians. He was a professor at Wrocław University from 1893. His son Ferdinand Albert Pax (1885–1964) was a noted zoologist.

Eduard Čech was a Czech mathematician born in Stračov. His research interests included projective differential geometry and topology. He is especially known for the technique known as Stone–Čech compactification and the notion of Čech cohomology. He was the first to publish a proof of Tychonoff's theorem in 1937.

Fritz Mauthner was an Austro-Hungarian novelist, theatre critic and satirist. He was an exponent of philosophical scepticism derived from a critique of human knowledge and of philosophy of language.

Johann Baptist Wanhal was a Czech classical music composer. He was born in Nechanice, Bohemia, and died in Vienna. His music was well respected by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. He was an instrumental performer as well. While being a prolific Organist, he also played the Violin and Cello.
