Bion of Abdera
Bion of Abdera was a Greek mathematician of Abdera, Thrace, and a pupil of Democritus. He wrote both in the Ionic and Attic dialects, and was the first who said that there were some parts of the Earth in which it was night for six months, while the remaining six months were one uninterrupted day.

Ariston of Chios
Aristo of Chios was a Stoic philosopher and colleague of Zeno of Citium. He outlined a system of Stoic philosophy that was, in many ways, closer to earlier Cynic philosophy. He rejected the logical and physical sides of philosophy endorsed by Zeno and emphasized ethics. Although agreeing with Zeno that Virtue was the supreme good, he rejected the idea that morally indifferent things such as health and wealth could be ranked according to whether they are naturally preferred. An important philosopher in his day, his views were eventually marginalized by Zeno's successors.
Dionysius of Lamptrai
Dionysius of Lamptrai was an Epicurean philosopher, who succeeded Polystratus as the head (scholarch) of the Epicurean school at Athens c. 219 BC. He died c. 205 BC and was succeeded by Basilides.
Ioannis Kottounios
Ioannis Kottounios, was an eminent ethnic Greek scholar who studied Philosophy, Theology and Medicine, taught Greek from 1617 and Philosophy from 1630 in Bologna, Italy becoming professor of philosophy in 1632 he also founded a college for unwealthy Greeks at Padua in 1653.
Ioannis Pavlos Papanicolaou
John Paul Papanicolaou was a Greek businessman active in the shipping industry. A friend of the Onassis family, he is best known for his purchase and restoration of the Onassis yacht, Christina O, and purchase and conversion of the now decaying former Yugoslavian presidential yacht Galeb, which was the third largest yacht in the world at one time.
