Lysimachus was a Macedonian officer and diadochus of Alexander the Great, who became a basileus ("King") in 306 BC, ruling Thrace, Asia Minor and Macedon.

Cylon was an Athenian associated with the first reliably dated event in Athenian history, the Cylonian Affair, an attempted seizure of power in the city.

Dimitris Avramopoulos is a Greek politician of the conservative New Democracy party, and former career diplomat. He has served in various high-level cabinet posts, including Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for National Defence, and was Mayor of Athens in 1995–2002. He served as EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship in the Juncker Commission between 2014 and 2019.

Ioannis Kolokotronis, or Gennaios Kolokotronis as he was nicknamed, was a Greek warrior of the Greek War of Independence, general and Prime Minister of Greece. He was born at Stemnitsa, Arcadia, but he grew up at Zakynthos. He was a son of Theodoros Kolokotronis and his mother was Aikaterini Karousou . He acquired the nickname "Gennaios" during the Greek War of Independence in which he fought valiantly despite his youth. He took part at the Siege of Tripolitsa, together with his father.

Petros Mavromichalis, also known as Petrobey, was the leader of the Maniot people during the first half of the 19th century. His family had a long history of revolts against the Ottoman Empire, which ruled most of what is now Greece. His grandfather Georgios and his father Pierros were among the leaders of the Orlov Revolt.

Ioannis Grivas was a Greek judge, who served as President of the Court of Cassation and served as the Prime Minister of Greece at the head of a non-party caretaker government in 1989.

Dorino Gattilusio was the fourth Gattilusio Lord of Lesbos from 1428 until his death. He ruled Lesbos at a time of increasing Ottoman power, and his last years were preoccupied with maintaining some measure of independence.

Theodore Antoniou, was a Greek composer and conductor. His works vary from operas and choral works to chamber music, from film and theatre music to solo instrumental works. In addition to his career as composer and conductor, he was professor of composition at Boston University. His education included studies in violin, voice, and composition at the National Conservatory of Athens, the Hellenic Conservatory, and conducting at both The Hochschule für Musik and the International Music Centre in Darmstadt. He was a member of the Academy of Athens.

Lindsay Gael Christian Elaine Armaou is a Greek-born Irish actress and singer. She is best known as a member of girl group B*Witched and for her role as Georgina in the crime thriller film The Smoke (2014).
