Johannes Jan "Joop" Atsma is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and sport administrator. He has been a Member of the Senate since 9 June 2015.

Bertine Spijkerman is a road cyclist from Netherlands. She won the bronze medal at the 2000 UCI Road World Championships in the women's junior time trial.

Maarten Pieter Tjallingii is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2016.

Willem Canter (1542-1575) was a classical scholar from Utrecht. He edited the Eclogues of Stobaeus and the tragedies of Euripides, Sophocles and Aeschylus.

Lieuwe de Boer is a former ice speed skater from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, United States. There he won the bronze medal in the men's 500 metres.

Tjerk Bottema was a Dutch painter. At age 14 he was sent Rijkskweekschool in Maastricht where he studied drawing. Later Bottema studies are the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, where art-nouveau had just come to hold sway. During this time Bottema also started drawing advertisements, an activity that would later make him famous. In 1909 he has his first major success with the painting “Maaiers”, one year later he wins the prestigious Prix de Rome. During World War I he visited the Western Front to make an illustrated report for De Amsterdammer. After the war he settles in Paris, he finds a job writing travel reports for De Notenkraker. When in 1940 the German army approaches Paris Bottema decides to leave France, dying when the ship he was travelling on was traveling on was sunk by a German U-boat.

Jacobus Ludovicus Conradus Schroeder van der Kolk was a Dutch anatomist and physiologist and an influential researcher into the causes of epilepsy and mental illness.
