Pentti Aalto
Pentti Aalto was a Finnish linguist who was the University of Helsinki Docent of Comparative Linguistics 1958–1980. Aalto was a student of G. J. Ramstedt. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1949 in Helsinki.

Marion Rung
Marion Rung is a Finnish pop singer. She is known for having represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1962 and 1973. Her 1962 Eurovision song placed 7th and in 1973, she managed to bring Finland's second best result in the contest until 2006. She also won the Grand Prix of the Sopot International Song Festival in 1974 and the Intervision Song Contest 1980 with "Where is the Love."
Max Lilja
Max Lilja is a Finnish cello player. He is best known as a founding member of the Finnish cello metal band Apocalyptica, a band he left in 2001 to join the Finnish thrash metal band Hevein. Beginning in 2007, Lilja has been a recording and touring member of Tarja Turunen's solo band. Throughout his career, Lilja has continued to play classical music alongside rock, metal, and crossover projects.

Otto Karhi
Otto Karhi was the first Chairman of Centre Party, then the League of the Rural People of Finland from 1906 to 1908. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1907 to 1908 and again from 1909 to 1913 from Oulu southern electoral district. He quit the Agrarian League in 1914 and stayed passive politically some years. Karhi was born and died in Oulu. In 1918 he was elected to the city council of Oulu as a representative of the Social Democratic Party of Finland and became re-elected until 1964.
